An earthquake of 5.1 intensity on the Richter scale jolted major Pakistani cities including the capital Islamabad Sunday.

The earthquake at 15:45 (0945 GMT) was also felt in Rawalpindi, Chitral, Mansehra, Peshawar and Muzaffarabad, situated in the country's northwest.

According to the Pakistani meteorological department, its epicenter was on the border of Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
