Thailand's Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya on Monday reported to police here denying all the charges filed earlier against his involvement in the closure of Bangkok's two airports in late 2008, according to Thai News Agency.

The foreign minister denied all of the allegations and will issue a statement concerning his denial to the police within the next 30 days, a senior Thai police officer said.

Kasit said that he is willing to meet with the police again, if he is required by the police, the senior police officer quoted Kasit as saying.

On Saturday, the police issued a summons for the People's Alliance for Democracy's (PAD) leaders and some other PAD key members to question them on the alleged involvement in the seizure of Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports during a mass rally to oust the then Somchai Wongsawat-led Government.

On July 16, totally 27 PAD persons will need to report to the police as among these summonsed is Kasit Piromya, Thai Foreign Minister, who went to report to the police earlier than the scheduled date.

The police summons, which dated on July 1, is in regard to a complaint, having filed by the Airports of Thailand (AOT) against the PAD leaders and other key PAD members on suspicion of invasion and destruction of property, inciting unrest and an act of terrorism, resulting in the AOT temporarily operational shutdown.

The other alleged offenses include violation of the states of emergency dated on Nov. 29, Dec. 1 and Dec. 1-3.

On Sunday, Suriyasai Katasila, PAD coordinator said that the terrorism charges by police for blockades of two Bangkok's airports by leaders and other active members of the PAD late last year are "too much and groundless".

"We will fight the charges under justice procedure and we guarantee of not escaping," Suriyasai said.

He said the PAD protesters at the two airports had no intention to create any chaos, while the PAD people only wanted to bring down the then illegitimate government.

"We are confident in our innocence as we exercised our constitutional rights," Suriyasai said.
