Indonesian police and military combed the shooting scene of PT Freeport Indonesia's employees in Papua to prevent any possible incident, the national news agency Antara quoted an official as saying on Tuesday.

"Personnel of police's special force and military are joining hands to comb the area. Indeed, we have 'high dynamics' there so we have to increase our vigilance," said Indonesian Police Chief General Bambang Hendarso Danuri.

He said that police investigation was underway to find the shooters.

"In Yapen Waropen, we managed to catch some suspects indicated of having relation with the Independent Papua Organization. In Timika, we are still waiting for the result," he said, referring to the location of Freeport's factory.

On the same occasion, the Military Chief General Djoko Santoso said that the shooting scene was "classically" considered as a risky place.

"We recommend that police should tighten security there and we are preparing a task force to move together with them. However, until now we have not yet add personnel and we haven't detained any suspects," he said.

Previous reports said that two of the company's employees and one police officer were found dead in the location. The employees, an Australian named Drew Nicholas Grant was shot in Mile-53 on Saturday and a security officer Rante Allo, as well as a police officer named Marson Freddy were killed in Mile-51.
