Police in northern Baghlan province of Afghanistan raided militants and foiled their attempt to carry out subversive activities, provincial governor Mohammad Akbar Barikzai said Wednesday.
"Acting upon intelligence report, police raided a house in provincial capital Pul-e-Khumri last night and arrested two others after killing a terrorist," Barikzai told newsmen at a briefing.
There were no casualties on police, he added.
All the suspected terrorists, the official said, were Afghans.
Baghlan and the neighbouring Kunduz and Samangan provinces have been the scene of increasing Taliban-linked militants activities over the past couple of months.
