Cash prize set to curb terrorist activities in Afghanistan

In efforts to overcome terrorist activities, Afghanistan Interior Ministry has sought the support of locals and set prize for those provide information about the whereabouts of militants in the capital city, a press release received Sunday said.

"The enemies of our people have been planning to carry out terrorist attacks in different parts of Kabul, thus the Interior Ministry is seeking the support of locals in order to foil terrorist activities," the statement said.

It added that anyone, who provides information leading to arrest of terrorists, would be prized with 2 million Afghanis (40,000 U.S. dollars).

Kabul and other Afghan cities have been experiencing Taliban-linked suicide and roadside attacks over the past couple of years.

A deadly suicide car bombing targeting Indian embassy in Kabul on October 8 left 17 dead and over 80 others injured, with majority of them civilians.
