Australia's Foreign Minister Stephen Smith on Thursday pledged to support Pakistan following a fatal car bomb attack in the city of Peshawar, which killed at least 92 people and tore down buildings in a busy marketplace on Wednesday.
"It's a terrible attack on women and children in a marketplace aimed at women and children," Smith told Sky News.
"I've relayed our condolences, our condemnation."
"We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them (Pakistan)," he said.
The attack occurred shortly after U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arrived in Pakistan on Wednesday to bolster the two countries' troubled alliance against Taliban and al-Qaeda militants.
Smith said there was nothing to suggest any Australians had been caught up in the attack.
