The Philippine government Thursday strongly condemned the terrorist attack against United Nations personnel in Kabul Wednesday that claimed the life of Filipina U. N. volunteer Jossie G. Esto and her four colleagues.
"The Philippines reaffirms its solidarity with the government and people of Afghanistan in their nation-building efforts," the Philippine foreign affairs department said in a statement.
The Philippine government likewise urged the international community to condemn this latest terrorist outrage and to unite in improving the protection of civilians caught in conflict.
Esto is the Electoral Outreach and Training Coordinator under the United Nations Volunteers Program. She is the fourth Filipino national killed in terrorist attacks against the United Nations in recent years.
