Kim Jong Il, the top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), visited two chemical plants in the southern Hamgyong province, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Friday.

He urged the Vinalon Complex to set up well-managed working process and the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex to finish its coal gasification project at an earlier date.

The KCNA didn't disclose the date of the visits.

The DPRK is undertaking a "100-day campaign" aimed at boosting its economy. Its media have frequently reported Kim's visits to factories and farms recently.
