The Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (UCPN-M) blocked vehicles to and from Nepali Kathmandu Valley at four entry points of the capital.

According to the Traffic headquarters, no vehicles plied the roads at main entry points since early Tuesday morning.

The vehicles arrived in the capital Monday night have been stranded along the road sides, the traffic office said.

Public, private vehicles are operating in the streets after the UCPN-M clarified that they have not called a transport strike in the valley.

The main opposition party UCPN-M blocked vehicles as part of its second phase of protests against the president's move on the issue of army chief and to establish civilian supremacy in the country.
