5 Indonesian deputy ministers urged to prioritize first 100 day-agenda

Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Wednesday asked five newly-installed deputy ministers to work really hard, particularly for the first 100 day-agenda, because it is very important to put foundation for development program in the next five years, Kompas.com online news reported on Wednesday.
"We are determined to make things better for the next five years with an ambition to achieve targets of better development," said the president after inaugurating five deputy ministers in the State Palace.
In the occasion the president gave instructions to the Head of Investment Coordination Agency Gita Wirjawan and the five deputy ministers.
The president told Gita Wirjawan that he hopes investment could trigger seven percent-growth or more in 2014.
"Do something so we can achieve investment worth 2,000 trillion rupiah (about 200 billion U.S. dollars) a year to reach seven percent growth in 2014," said President Yudhoyono.
He also instructed Deputy Minister of Agriculture Bayu Krisnamurthi to achieve self sufficiency in agricultural production and commodities, like corn, sugar, soybean and beef
For the Deputy Minister of Industry Alex Retraubun, the president said that he hopes there will be a revitalization and modernization of factories of fertilizer and sugar as well as other manufactures.
The president also hopes that the Deputy Minister of Trade Mahendra Siregar to make domestic and inter-island trade more active. He also reminds Mahendra to keep active in the world's organization, from the Association of the Southeast Asia Nations (ASEAN) to the G20.
For the Deputy Minister of Public Works Hermanto Dardak, the president said that the deputy minister's jobs would be heavy because the ministry should construct infrastructures for transportation, energy and even for agriculture.
And for the Deputy Minister of Transportation Bambang Susantono, the president said that Indonesia should have domestic connectivity, including inter-island one, before the country could reach connectivity with other ASEAN countries.
