Five killed in train derailment in India

At least five persons were killed and 20 seriously injured when all 15 coaches of Delhi-bound Mandor Express got derailed near Bans ka Phatak, about 40 km from the western city of Jaipur early Saturday, reported the Press Trust of India.

The report quoted railway official as saying the incident took place at 01:30 a.m. local time, as five air conditioned coaches, seven sleepers and three general coaches of the train plying between Jodhpur and Delhi got derailed at Jar or Jatwara railway stations.

The injured people were taken out to hospitals near Jaipur while rescue workers used hydraulic cutters to cut into the overturned coaches.
