Pakistani Army to continue operation against militants: Army chief

Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani said on Wednesday that the Pakistani Army will continue its operation against extremists and terrorist still their complete elimination.
Addressing the passing out parade of pilots and engineers at Pakistani Air Force Academy Risalpur on Wednesday, the Army chief said Pakistan is facing extra ordinary challenges internally and externally and threatened by adventurous neighbor.
He said no compromise will be made on the sovereignty and security of the country in accordance with the ideology and vision of the country's founders Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
General Kiyani said all resources will be utilized to avert incidents of terrorism in the country.
He said Armed forces are fully capable to defend the motherland and to root out the menace of terrorism from the country. He said Armed forces achieved great success in Malakand division due to the support of the masses.
The Chief of Army Staff lauded the role of Pakistan air force in the ongoing military operation against militants in the Taliban strongholds of South Waziristan. He asked the cadets, who are assuming their duties, to devote their energies for the defense of the country.
According to the Army statistics, Pakistani security forces have killed more than 500 militants since they launched the ground assault on Oct. 17 in the South Waziristan, advancing towards the main base of Taliban militants in Pakistan.
