Afghan security forces have captured a dozen Taliban fighters in the western Nimroz province, provincial governor Ghulam Dastgir Azad said Saturday.
"The security forces, during a cleanup operation outside the provincial capital Zaranj late Friday, detained 12 rebels," Azad told Xinhua.
A Taliban local commander Mullah Nimatullah is among those arrested during the operation, he added. Taliban have not made any comment.
The militants in a deadly bomb attack in the neighboring Farah province on the same day Friday left over a dozen people, mostly civilians, dead and over three dozen others injured.
