Pakistani President and the ruling Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari declared Wednesday that it is democratic right of the PPP to complete its tenure and those trying to destabilize the government would not succeed.

Zardari made the remarks while addressing a big public meeting held in Karachi, the biggest city of Pakistan, to commemorate the 43rd foundation day of the PPP, the private TV channel Express reported.

The President said all political parties in the parliament including the opposition do not want the system to derail but some political actors were portraying doomsday scenario to destabilize the Pakistani government.

Zardari said that people of Pakistan have given mandate to the PPP and it is not fearful of any so-called deadline being given by these political actors about fate of the government.

Zardari, who entered office 14 months ago, presently faces plunging popularity. In interviews, opinion articles and talk shows, a diverse range of people are denouncing him as a corrupt and indifferent ruler.

The PPP Co-Chairman said the party has served the masses and it would continue to serve them in future as well. He said the PPP is not afraid of conspiracies and is prepared to respond if these were hatched.

Zardari said it is his policy to take along all political forces and that is why he responds positively to their demands. He said the PPP wants other parties including the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to become stronger as this would help strengthen democracy and the country.
