According to Singapore's "Lianhe Zaobao" on Monday, Malaysia's Ministry of the Interior Secretary-General Imam Adam said, the condition of foreigners "disappearing" in Malaysia is serious.

Figures show that 28 million people entered the country last year and among them 23 million were tourists. Among the remaining 5 million people, only 1.6 million have registration and the other 3.4 million have ‘disappeared’.

Imam Adam said it was unfair of the United Nations to label Malaysia as having the highest index of human trafficking because it is only two years after Malaysia enforced the Anti-Trafficking Persons Act in 2007. There are still many areas including law enforcement agencies and judicial proceedings that are not yet on track.
