The Thailand's government is going to set up check points to prevent violence, which might be incited during a series of anti-government rallies, acting government spokesman Panithan Wattanayagorn said on Monday.

A total of 160-200 check points will be gradually established from Feb. 15 in Bangkok and suburbs in order to control the anti- government rallies planned by the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD), the National News Bureau of Thailand ( NNT) under the state-owned Public Relations Department quoted the spokesman as saying.

Also, the Thai government has prepared a combined force of policemen, soldiers and civilians to control the UDD movement in around 40 provinces in the country, in which the UDD protesters might hold anti-government rallies, he said.
