Three civilians were killed in Afghanistan's southern Helmand province as a roadside bomb struck their car Monday, spokesman for provincial administration Daud Ahmadi said.
"The gruesome incident occurred in Bulan, a suburb of provincial capital Lashkar Gah, killing three innocent citizens," Ahmadi told Xinhua.
He blamed Taliban militants for the attack, saying the militants by carrying out subversive activities want to destabilize the province.
Meantime, a joint major Afghan-NATO offensive against Taliban fiefdom in Marja district of Helmand province has been continuing since Feb. 13 to ensure government control in the restive region.
