Afghan police kill 7 Taliban militants including their commander

Police during an operation in Helmand province south of Afghanistan eliminated seven Taliban insurgents including their commander on Wednesday, a press release of Interior Ministry said Thursday.
"The operation carried out yesterday outside provincial capital Lashkar Gah led to the killing of seven Taliban rebels including their commander Mullah Bismillah," the press release added.
It also added that some arms and ammunitions including four assault rifles were seized.
A major operation with the involvement of 15,000 Afghan and NATO-led troops has been continuing against Taliban bastion in Marja district and surrounding areas of Helmand since February 13.
