U.S. wants more steps taken by Myanmar before election

The United States said on Wednesday that it would like to see steps taken by the Myanmar government to encourage domestic dialogue before the election.
The U.S. was disappointed with the roll out of the election process in the country, said Kurt Campbell, Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, in Putrajaya, administrative center of the Malaysian Federal government.
The United States also wanted the Myanmar government to release Aung San Suu Kyi, he told a press conference after the Second Malaysia-U.S. Senior Officials Dialogue.
The U.S. has been requesting the Myanmar government to free Aung San Suu Kyi.
