Afghan National Police (ANP) discovered an ammunition cache in country's northeastern province of Badakhshan on Tuesday, provincial police chief said Wednesday.

"ANP during an operation found an ammunition cache containing 150 remote control mines and 50 mortar rounds in Yaftal-e- Sufla district yesterday," Aqa Noor Kintoz told Xinhua.

However, he added no individuals had been detained so far in the case.

Weeks ago the Afghan police found tons of weapons in Wardoge district in the same province.

Police also couple of days ago detained two militants in Badakhshan province and found assault rifles, explosive devices and suicide vests from their possessions.
