Roadside bomb kills Afghan soldier

An Afghan soldier was killed as a roadside bomb struck a military vehicle in Paktia province on Friday, a press release of Defense Ministry issued here Saturday said.

"A unit of soldiers was on routine patrol in Zarmat district yesterday when a mine planted by militants hit a van as a result one soldier was martyred," the press release added.

Taliban militants fighting Afghan and the NATO-led troops have intensified their attacks mostly in the shape of suicide and roadside bombings.
