5 people killed, 33 injured in traffic accidents in Yangon water festival

Five people were killed and 33 others injured in 21 traffic accident cases in Yangon during this year's Myanmar traditional Thingyan water festival over the last week, according to the traffic police authorities Wednesday.
Last year, five people were also killed and 45 others injured out of traffic accidents during the same festival.
Besides, a total of 8 people lost their lives and 170 others injured in a series of three bomb blasts in front of a water throwing pandal, named X-2-O, on Kandawkyi Ring Road in Yangon on April 15, the third day of the water festival.
Myanmar's Thingyan water festival ran from April 13 to 16 according to the traditional customs.
