At least 24 people, allegedly Central Americans lacking legal status in Mexico, died in a shipwreck off the coast of the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca on Friday, police said.
The bodies were found at San Francisco beach, 320 km away from the Mexico-Guatemala border, reports said, adding police were carrying out an intensive rescue search for survivors.
