A small fire erupted in a U.S. Congress building early Friday but was put out immediately without causing any real danger.

The fire was discovered about 8:00 a.m. EDT in a woman's restroom at the 2nd floor of the Dirksen Senate Office Building, said police spokesman Sgt. Kimberly Schneider.

No evacuation or injury left by the fire, she said.

However, Schneider said that it was at least the 7th confirmed fire in the Congress office buildings since late September and Capitol Police has conducted an investigation and added more patrols around the buildings.

In addition, Capitol Police sent out a mass e-mail early last month, looking for tips on a series of small fires in the Senate Office Buildings.
