A 20-year-old man was taken into custody Friday at an airport in Canada after he ran through security without being screened and directly boarded an airplane, reports reaching here said.

Security officials at Toronto's Pearson International Airport chased the man from the screening area through the airport right onto an Air Canada Jazz plane. He surrendered without resistance and was later handed over to the police.

Police have not yet decided the man's identity nor the reason why he was at the airport. But he would face a criminal charge of mischief, officials told Canadian Television.

Several flights were delayed as a result of the incident but things went back normal a few hours later at the airport.
