U.S. Democratic presidential candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton are too close to call as the New Hampshire presidential primary result was rolling out on Tuesday.
With more than 60 percent of precincts counted, Clinton led Obama by only 3 percentage points, 39 to 36.
The temporary result was in a strong contrast to the polls before the primary, which showed Obama's lead over Clinton by two-digit percentage points.
According to CNN exit polls, among female voters in the state, 47 percent cast ballots for Clinton, compared to 34 percent for Obama.
Another poll released by MSNBC TV showed that 42 percent of black voters supported Clinton while 35 percent endorsed Obama.
Obama's supporters are still closely watching the rest precincts' result, expecially those from college towns where young voter turnout is expected to boost Obama.
