An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 hit Mexico's northern city of Mexicali Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
So far, there was no report of casualties or damage.
The quake, which struck at around 11:15 p.m. Friday (0715 GMT Saturday), was about 7 km deep, and was centered around 30 km southeast of Mexicali, a city with a population of about 1 million, t said.
It left about 400,000 people out of electricity and 1.2 million without cell phone service, said the city's civil defense service Source: Xinhua
