Two men were fatally struck by lightning on Saturday in Valparaiso, a city in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo.

Amir Esperancim, the pilot, and his assistant Antonio Agnaldo da Silva were flying in a small agricultural aircraft, and they interrupted their work when a storm came up quickly, according to the Civil Police.

The two were killed as they sought shelter beneath the wing of the aircraft, where they were struck by a bolt of lightning.

Lorival Carlos, who was in a van when the lightning struck, witnessed the accident and only found two charred bodies when he ran to them and tried to revive them.
