The foreign ministers of South American and Arabian countries began on Wednesday a 2-day meeting in Buenos Aires, Argentina to strengthen multilateral ties between these countries.
Argentine Foreign Minister Jorge Taiana said in the opening speech the dialogue between the South American countries and the Arabian countries will strengthen these countries' political, cultural and economic ties.
During the meeting held at San Martin Palace, Argentina's Foreign Ministry headquarters, Taiana told his foreign counterparts that maintaining world peace is the most sacred of all the commitments.
Taiana said South America will cooperate to accomplish peace in the Middle East and said he hoped Israel and Palestine could find a way to the peaceful coexistence.
The ministers will issue the Buenos Aires declaration on Thursday.
The foreign ministers decided on Wednesday that the Second Summit of Heads of State and Government of South America and the Arab Countries (SAAC) will be held in Qatar in the second half of this year.
The date of the meeting will be decided afterwards by the Arab League, the Union of South American Countries, Brazil and Argentina.
The first summit of SAAC's chiefs of State was held in Brasilia in 2005.
