Peru's President Alan Garcia and his Ecuadorian counterpart Rafael Correa met in the Palace of Government in Peru's capital Lima on Tuesday to discuss the diplomatic crisis that involves Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador.

Peru is the first stop on a five-nation South America tour that Correa has organized to defend his point of view about Colombia's Saturday night incursion into Ecuadorian territory.

The raid killed Edgar Devia, the number two in Colombian rebel group the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), better known by alias Raul Reyes and 20 other rebels.

On Monday Venezuela and Ecuador both moved their troops to their respective borders with Colombia and terminated diplomatic relations with the nation.
