The Brazilian government confirmed on Tuesday that President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will meet Ecuador's President Rafael Correa on Wednesday to discuss the ongoing impasse with Colombia.

Presidential spokesman Marcelo Baumbach said the two leaders will have a meeting Wednesday morning in order to facilitate the conciliation between Ecuador and Colombia, and search for a peaceful solution to the crisis.

Baumbach said Lula has not talked to Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez since Saturday, when Colombian forces attacked a camp in Ecuadorian territory and killed 21 members of rebel group the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia.

The Venezuelan president openly supported Correa's decision to reinforce military presence in the Ecuador-Colombia border, and has sent reinforcement to Venezuela's border with Colombia.

The spokesman said the next conversation between Lula and Chavez has not been scheduled but there was no obstacle to a conversation between them "in the next few days or moments."

Ecuador and Venezuela reinforced their borders with Colombia Tuesday as the three nations traded bitter accusations over Colombia's cross-border attack.

Correa has been on a five-nation tour of South America to rally support for solving the row with Colombia.
