The White House said Thursday that the blast in New York's Times Square does not appear to be terrorism but stressed the investigation is continuing.

When asked if there were any indications the blast was terrorism-related, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said: "It doesn't appear to be but again the investigation is still ongoing."

Perino made the comments after an explosion hit a military recruiting station in New York's Times Square early Thursday, causing minor damage to the one-story structure. Nobody was injured.

The Times Square recruiting center has been the site of several anti-war protests in the past.

The FBI has launched a full probe into the incident, authorities said.
