The Andean Parliament (Parlandino), the legislative branch of the Andean Community (CAN), held an extraordinary meeting here Thursday to seek a solution to the Colombia-Ecuador crisis.
Participants of the meeting were hoping to find a way to get both sides to work together to solve the diplomatic conflict.
Ecuador broke off ties with Colombia after Colombian troops entered Ecuadorian territory Saturday to destroy a camp of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).
"We have urgently summoned this meeting to see what we can do and to find a peaceful and immediate solution," Parlandino President Ivonne Baki, also an Ecuadorian legislator, said.
