Dominican Foreign Minister Carlos Morales Troncoso rebutted U.S. condemnation of the Dominican Republic in its latest human rights reports, saying that Washington is not qualified to judge human rights situation in his country.

According to the report from Santo Domingo, Morales told local media that the United States should be condemned due to prisoner abuses in the Guantanamo Bay detention camp and its actions in Iraq.

Therefore, the United States is not qualified to condemn the alleged human rights violation in the Dominican Republic in its reports that accused Santo Domingo of discriminating Haiti migrants.

Morales said the human rights situation in the Dominican Republic is improving and the Haiti migrants have received friendly treatment and respect.

"The U.S. report ignored the truth and willfully distorted the human rights situation in Dominica, and we can not accept it," he said.
