U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney made a surprise visit to Iraq on Monday.
The visit was not included in the schedule announced by the White House previously.
Cheney was expected to meet with top U.S. and Iraqi officials during his stay in Iraq, including the top U.S. commander in Iraq, General David Petraeus, U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker and Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Malki.
