Police has found the body of a retired British nurse in a septic tank at her home in Jamaica, reports reaching here from Kingston said Saturday.

The police and firefighters spent more than seven hours removing Barbara Jayne Scott's corpse from the concrete-sealed pit after receiving a tip-off, local media reported.

An on-the-spot autopsy showed that the body's skull was fractured by a blunt instrument, said the report.

Scott, 61, had been living in Jamaica for more than 20 years, police said.

She had been missing for a week before the discovery in Somerton, a rural area near the tourist resort of Montego Bay, early Friday.

Police is now looking for Scott's lover, a 30-year-old laborer identified as Omar Reid who has not been seen since she went missing.

"We are still appealing to Mr. Reid to come in because we still need to speak to him," Superintendent Steve McGregor said.
