A plane carrying two Brazilian ministers crash-landed at an airport in northeastern Brazil Wednesday. No one was injured in the incident, official sources said.
The Brazilian Air Force plane suffered a technical problem just after take-off at about 14:00 local time (1730 GMT) at Guararapes Airport in Recife, capital city of Pernambuco state.
The plane, bound for Brasilia, the country's federal capital, was forced to return.
Geddel Vieira Lima, Brazilian minister of national integration, and Communications Minister Helio Costa, were on board.
They are members of the delegation with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
Earlier in the day, Lula met with his Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chavez in Recife on a joint refinery project between the two countries.
As it was landing, the Learjet 35's left-hand undercarriage failed to lower, forcing the plane's underside to touch the ground.
The jet skidded before coming to a halt on grass next to the runway. The airport was closed until the evening as a result of the incident.
The passengers were expected to be transported on another flight later in the day.
An inquiry has been opened immediately after the incident.
