About 300 people were evacuated from a shopping center on Wednesday in Bucaramanga city, in northern Colombia, as a car bomb was allegedly placed nearby, police sources said.
An anti-bomb squad was sent to the shopping center, where it searched the building, 60 cars and parking lots but found no explosives.
"It was a false alarm," said anti-explosive expert Vladimir Reyes from the Anti-explosive Technical Corpse Investigation Unit.
A manager from the mall said he received a phone call warning him about an imminent car-bomb explosion at the San Andesito mall in Bucaramanga, the capital city of the Santander province.
An investigation was underway and authorities were trying to determine who was responsible for the threat. Source:Xinhua
