OAS mission begins analyzing Colombia-Ecuador crisis |

A mission from the Organization of American States (OAS) was due to meet Ecuadorian ministers to analyze this country's diplomatic crisis with Colombia Monday in Quito, Ecuador's capital.
The OAS's Special Mission director Bolivian native Victor Rico headed the team. He arrived in Quito Sunday night and has met Ecuadorian Foreign minister Maria Isabel Salvador.
The group will also meet Defense Minister Wellington Sandoval and Interior Minister Fernando Bustamante.
Rico said he aimed to comply with the resolution adopted by the OAS on March 17 when regional Foreign ministers rejected Colombia's violation of Ecuadorian sovereignty during a military operation against the Colombian Revolutionary Armed Forces (FARC).
The mission will leave Ecuador Tuesday to go on to Colombia. After the visits, the mission will present a report to OAS's general secretary Jose Miguel Insulza.
Ecuador broke off diplomatic relations with Colombia on March 3after Colombia's army attacked a FARC base in Ecuadorian territory and killed 26 people including the FARC's international spokesman Edgar Devia, alias Raul Reyes, four Mexicans and an Ecuadorian.
