An overloaded bus plunged off a cliff in western El Salvador Wednesday morning, killing at least 13 people and injuring 40 others, according to news reaching here from San Salvador, the Central American country's capital.
The bus, from El Salvador's public transportation Route-225, skidded down the 80-meter-high cliff along the Metapan-Santa Ana highway.
Results of initial investigation suggested the driver was speeding when the accident occurred, said sources from El Salvador's National Civil Police.
The injured were being treated in hospital.
