U.S. Democratic presidential contender Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois appeared to have a huge financial advantage over his two opponents, the U.S. News and World Report said Monday.
He raised 41 million U.S. dollars in March and finished the month with 42 million dollars in the bank that he could use in the pivotal primary in Pennsylvania Tuesday, the weekly magazine said.
By contrast, his Democratic rival Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York brought in 20 million dollars last month and finished with 9 million dollars in the bank, but had 10.3 million dollars in debts.
Republican contender Sen. John McCain of Arizona raised 15.2 million dollars in March and had 11.6 million dollars in the bank, his best fund-raising figures yet.
McCain remains far behind Clinton and Obama in overall fund-raising and spending.
Democratic voters will go to polls in Pennsylvania Tuesday where 158 delegates are at stake.
