The Brazilian navy announced Tuesday that it would hold a joint exercise with Argentina and the United States near the littoral of Brazil's Rio de Janeiro state.
The target of this drill is "to offer opportunities for participating countries to carry out joint operations" and "to promote the exchange of ideas and procedure", the Brazilian navy said in a statement.
The maneuver will take place on May 2 with the involvement of 15 ships and 9,000 servicemen.
During the operation with the code name Unitas, military forces from the three countries will carry out exercises involving submarines, planes and helicopters.
