U.S. President George W. Bush had a brief breakfast meeting with Jordan's King Abdullah II at the White House Wednesday morning, the White House said.
It was a private meeting. The king arrived and left within the span of an hour, local press quoted the White House as reporting. No details of their talks are immediately available.
Abdullah arrived here at Bush's invitation to discuss negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis, the latest developments in the Middle East and ties between the United States and Jordan, the Jordanian Embassy said.
The U.S.-Jordan meeting comes a day before Bush's scheduled meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
