Former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee will publish a new book detailing his failed bid for the White House, a publisher said Thursday.

The Sentinel imprint of Penguin Group (USA) Inc. said the former governor of Arkansas has agreed to write the book that will be published on Nov. 18, 2008, two weeks after the general election day.

"We are delighted to be working with Governor Huckabee, the hottest rising star in the Republican Party," said Adrian Zackheim, president and publisher of the Sentinel and Portfolio imprints.

He said the book will offer "straight talk on how we can renew America through limited government and a sense of national community."

It "will also give his four million supporters the real inside story of how their amazing support ignited a grassroots movement."

Despite a tiny budget and small staff, the Huckabee campaign drew passionate, hard working volunteers from all over the country.

Huckabee served as the governor of Arkansas from 1996 to 2007 and as lieutenant governor from 1993 to 1996.

He quitted the presidential race in March after rival Sen. John McCain of Arizona secured the nomination.
