U.S. President George W. Bush said Tuesday that the United States was making "good progress" in Afghanistan, despite a weekend Taliban attack on a parade attended by Afghan President Hamid Karzai and international envoys.
"I think we are making progress but there is a very resilient enemy," Bush told a press conference held at the White House.
"I will tell you now that we're making progress in Afghanistan, but there is tough fighting. I am under no illusions this is not tough, I know we are dealing with a determined enemy," Bush said.
Three people were killed when militants opened fire on Afghan leaders and international representatives who were attending a military parade in Kabul on Sunday.
