Police have arrested nearly 100 students at San Diego State University in a drug bust, authorities said on Tuesday.

The bust followed a five-month undercover operation after police received tips that drug dealing was rampant at the university, about 80 miles (128 kilometers) south of Los Angeles, authorities said.

In the operation, police seized drugs, cash and guns seized from sellers and buyers, police said.

The San Diego County district attorney's office said the 96 arrests include fraternity members. Defendants are scheduled to appear in state court to face charges Tuesday afternoon.
