The International Women Forum (IWF) staged a seminar here Wednesday, bringing together about 500influential women leaders from around the world to discuss such issues as globalization and poverty eradication.
The two-day seminar, themed "Women in power: a new leadership," was attended by preeminent women from all walks of life and their agenda also includes political instability and global trade perspectives, head of IWF's Argentine branch senator Maria Eugenia Estenssoro said.
The seminar is taking place in South America due to the "important leadership women are having in the continent," Estenssoro said.
Beatriz Nofal, head of Argentina's National Investment Promotion Agency, said that this is a good way to introduce Argentina to the world.
The IWF aims to advance women's leadership across careers, cultures and continents by connecting the world's most preeminent women of significant and diverse achievement.
It groups 4,300 influential women from 22 countries. Its branch in Argentina has more than 30 women members.
