Colombian Ambassador to Peru Alvaro Pava said Wednesday said no meeting with Ecuador, which has broken off ties with Colombia in March, has been arranged at the upcoming regional summit.

Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa and his Colombian counterpart Alvaro Uribe will attend the 5th Latin American and Caribbean (ALC)-European Union (EU) summit, which is to be held from May 13 to May 17 in Lima, but a bilateral meeting between them has not been arranged, Pava said.

The Organization of American States (OAS) is seeking a meeting between the pair on the sidelines of the summit, he added.

Colombia would be always be open to dialogue with Ecuador and President Uribe "has given signs that his country wants internal peace and international solidarity," Pava said.

The Colombian military attacked a camp of Colombia's Revolutionary Armed Forces (FARC) in Ecuador on March 1 and two days later, Ecuador severed diplomatic ties with Colombia.

The upcoming ALC-EU summit will gather leaders of over 40 countries in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean region, who will discuss climate change, poverty and other issues.
