A top campaign aide for Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York said Thursday that the Democratic nomination race will not go beyond June no matter what happens in the next few weeks.
"It'll be over early June," Clinton's campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe said during a number of appearances on TV talk shows Thursday morning.
He also hinted that the former first lady will support rival Sen. Barrack Obama of Illinois if he is the nominee.
"If Hillary doesn't win, Hillary, (former) President (Bill) Clinton, myself, we'll be over there helping Senator Obama. And, likewise, Senator Obama will come together to help Hillary if she's the nominee," said McAuliffe.
He predicted Clinton can still pull in big wins in the remaining six primaries.
As there's virtually no hope that she can catch up Obama in the number of national convention delegates and popular votes, Clintonis coming under increasing pressure to withdraw from the Democratic presidential nomination race.
Clinton repeatedly vowed to fight on against all odds, but McAuliffe's words will offer some relief for Democrats who fear the nomination race could drag on to the Democratic National Convention in August.
