The Chilean government has expressed its support to and solidarity with India after Tuesday's terrorist bombings in the historical city of Jaipur, which left more than 60 people dead and 150 injured.

In an official communique Wednesday, Chile's Foreign Ministry regretted the loss of human lives as a result of the terrorist act in the western Indian city.

"Chile's government would like to convey its deep condolences and expression of solidarity to the Indian authorities and the victims' relatives," the document said.

The Chilean government expresses "its most emphatic repudiation and condemnation of these acts and hopes for the early recuperation of those injured in the attacks," it added.

The communique also said the Chilean presidency "manifests its hope that those responsible for the attacks will be speedily brought to justice by India."

Suspected international terrorists set off eight near-simultaneous bomb blasts on Tuesday evening in crowded markets and a packed Hindu temple in Jaipur, the capital city of the Indian state of Rajasthan.
